TSV 1860 Munich opens new fan shop at Munich Airport
Blue and white brand world in Terminal 2 connects football passion with modern retail design
TSV 1860 Munich is expanding its presence with a new location at Munich Airport. A modern fan shop has been created in the public area of Terminal 2 on Level 03, offering travellers, football fans and visitors a comprehensive range of TSV 1860 merchandise with immediate effect. The store officially opened on 06 June 2026.
A distinct brand world has been created across approximately 85 square metres of retail space, translating the identity of the traditional club into a contemporary shop concept. Gruschwitz GmbH from Munich was responsible for the design, concept, planning, and project management and coordination with Munich Airport. The implementation and realisation of the shop-fitting as general contractor was carried out by Milak TWO in ONE Services GmbH from Munich, including the construction project coordination.
From a design perspective, the shop is guided by existing TSV 1860 Munich retail units, reinterpreting them in a modern, sporty, and refreshing design language. The consistent use of the club colours blue and white runs through all areas of the store, creating a distinctive atmosphere with high recognition value.
A particular eye-catcher is the blue-designed ceiling in combination with striking blue and white stripes that extend from the floor across parts of the wall surfaces. The design creates dynamic wayfinding and directs passengers specifically from the mall area into the store. This concept is supported by hexagonally arranged lighting modules from XAL, which formally resemble classic football seams and further strengthen the emotional connection to the theme of football.
The open-plan retail space with its adjoining storage area presents itself as bright, clearly structured and high-quality. White shopfitting deliberately contrasts with the intensely designed wall and ceiling surfaces, placing the fan merchandise at the centre of the room's staging.
The new fan shop is located in the MAC (Munich Airport Center) at Munich Airport, in Terminal 2 – directly by the exit of car park P20, opposite McDonald's. With the new location, TSV 1860 Munich is creating an emotional meeting point for fans and travellers at the airport and bringing a piece of Lions' passion right into the heart of the international airport.
